If you are looking for a new way to make money, or get free products, consider product testing jobs. Although I’m using the word “job”, this is really more of an opportunity to earn some extra cash on the side, or get freebies.
The one cool thing about testing products is that you can be the first to get the latest merchandise for free, before it hits the store shelf. Basically, the company sends you their product and you must review it according to their instructions. You get paid cash or get to keep the product in some cases.
There are a couple ways to apply for product testing opportunities. The first way is to find them on paid survey sites and the second way is to find a manufacturer that offers a product testing program.

Here are three companies that provide opportunities for product resting…
1. Nike
If you are a serious athlete, check out the Nike product testing program. Nike doesn’t provide compensation for this, but I wanted to mention the program anyways because it’s a pretty cool way to try out some new shoes. You must fill out an online application for the job. Be sure to provide as many details as possible. If you get accepted, you will receive a pair of shoes for free that you will be able to try out for a month or so. After that period ends, you must mail back the shoes in the return box.
Nike is picky about who they choose to sample their shoes, so you might not get accepted the first time. If that’s the case, apply more than once. Participating in the Nike product testing program doesn’t cost anything and you don’t have to enter your social security number, or use a credit card number to sign up.
2. Pinecone Research
Pinecone Research is a legitimate market research company that provides paid online surveys and product testing jobs. Joining isn’t the same as with other survey sites. Pinecone Research doesn’t advertise all over the Web like most other survey sites do and they don’t always accept new survey takers either. If you want to sign up, you have to do so through one of their random banners on the Web — a quick Google search should do the trick.
This company mostly provides paid surveys, but they do also provide product testing opportunities and sometimes these pay more than their $3 surveys. Usually at the end of a survey, there will be an option to register to test a product. All you have to do is follow the directions they give you. They will mail a product to your home for sampling and then you’ll have to complete a survey about it at the end for compensation. Their payments are processed through PayPal.
Their product testing surveys are available by invitation only. You will receive an email from them when something new opens up.
3. BzzAgent
BzzAgent looks for people to test their products at home. The testing period lasts one to two weeks or more. The company doesn’t actually pay you for the testing, but they let you keep the products, so you can get a nice freebie. When you join BzzAgent, you can choose products you’re interested in testing from their category selection. You first have to fill out your profile, after joining, and answer some profile questions.
Many of the items that are available for testing are items you’re already using around the house. These can include everything from toilet paper to video games. It is completely free to use BzzAgent, but the opportunity is only available for people living in the United States, U.K. and Canada.
After testing a product, you can go one step further and provide your feedback about the products and earn MyPoints in return. These points can be traded in later for another product. You can even skip that part if you want and accept the freebie that they mail to your home.
