Screen printing – the leader in the durability of the print on the T-shirt
We have already written about this traditional technique with the longest experience in our previous post. The popular screen printing is undoubtedly the most popular and most frequently chosen method of printing on various types of textiles. We can screen print surfaces such as: polyester and cotton materials, as well as glass, paper, ceramics and wood. An additional advantage is the whole palette of unusual effects. What do we mean by that? Do you dream of a neon, silver or gold print? Screen printing makes such dreams come true without any problems. This most durable method, however, requires one design for the entire run and is not suitable for marking on fleece.
Thermal transfer
If the printing process is carried out correctly, with high-quality foil, the right temperature, and sufficient welding time, the printed material should be resistant to damage and washing.The production costs of T-shirts using the thermal transfer technique are relatively low, which is why it is recommended for low-volume projects.
Sublimation
Do you care about the exact reproduction of the graphic design on the T-shirt? Voila – you couldn’t find a better place. For what projects do we use sublimation? For example, when printing photos on fabrics. The print made with this method is famous for its durability, flexibility and good color reproduction. The disadvantage is certainly the limitations in terms of material selection. In this case, dreams of cotton T-shirts are put aside and we focus on polyester or a material with its admixture. As for the color – very bright colors work best here.
DTG – digital printing
Here the situation is simpler – the pattern in the form of raster graphics is applied to the textiles selected by us using a digital printer. The pattern applied with DTG printing will certainly be perfectly reproduced, in full color, tonal transitions will also be preserved.
However, we must remember that it is not only about choosing the right printing method, but also about the quality of the media. A t-shirt, sweatshirt or other surface must be of good quality – otherwise even screen printing will not help and the graphics will be damaged, perforated or faded. What to pay attention to? Mostly grammar. Sometimes it’s best to research the subject empirically, look in the wardrobe and compare your favorite shirts.
